As a comic, I like your old-fashioned but clever humor and seemingly crude but very animated artwork. However, it really doesn’t work to talk about topics such as race in a funny animal world, unless you go by, say, reptiles are second-class citizens compared to mammals. For the record, I assume all the characters in your scenario are “colored”, except maybe for animals such as polar bears (ha, ha). Even if Fred were an Arctic fox, his fur would be white in winter but change to dark fur in warmer weather.
