Hey there! New strips are in the hopper, and I’ll try to update a little more frequently this week (more than once!). Things should be getting back to normal pretty soon, and then I’ll only be missing ONE day per week, instead of all five. Ah, normalcy.
And in other news:
It’s been almost a year since I last put out a book of cartoons, so I figure … what the hell … I’ll do it again!
I’m working on the second “Inhuman Relations” book right now (okay, not *right* now, since I had to stop in order to type this, but you get the point). Also! There will be bonus material especially for the book, if you’re into that sort of thing.
The book should be out sometime next month.
I will now close with a quote from those great philosophers The Cornelius Brothers (and Sister Rose), who once said: “It’s too late to turn back now — baybeh — AhbelieveAhbelieveAhbelieve I’m falling in loooove”.
I know this quote has nothing to do with this post. But are you going to argue with the Cornelius Brothers (and Sister Rose)? Not a chance.
Sorry to leave everybody hanging! New strips are on the way, I promise.
In the meantime, instead of fishing around YouTube for clips, here’s a rerun with some ham-handed commentary. Oh boy!
(I fooled around with the ComicPress settings to make the comic area wider, so this version of the strip is slightly more legible than the one in the archives.)

This is an early strip from April 2008, and it was inspired by … hmm, I can’t say it was inspired by me doing my taxes because I always beg someone else to do them for me. So I guess you could say this was inspired by me not doing my taxes. Yes.
Also: You might notice that Maureen is a little more shapely in this strip than she is now. At the time I was studying the work of Owen Fitzgerald, a prolific yet sadly unknown cartoonist whose curvaceous cartoon women remain second to none. I probably had shapely women on the brain when I drew this. But then, I still do. So … yeah.
And finally, an important message: no mice were harmed during the making of this strip. Except for the ones who invaded my apartment and kept me awake half the night scurrying and foraging through my belongings. See you in hell, Mickey!
Cartoon will be up tomorrow. That is all!
Okay, no, that’s not all. Here’s a clip from the movie “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying”. THAT is all!
These pictures are from a Fantasia book which belonged to an attractive woman named Sally … and the only reason I know this is because a number of great Disney artists inscribed the book to her with personalized drawings. I got these wonderful pictures from an auction site that was selling the book a while back, but whose name I can’t remember. Some of the drawings are kinda risque, so if you’re offended by cartoon lady parts (even Disneyfied cartoon lady parts), consider shielding your eyes while you scroll. To everyone else: enjoy!
I hate to leave everyone hanging like this, but new strips are on the way. Promise!
On a side note, did anybody see the White House Correspondents’ Dinner? Obama made a killer joke about targeting the Jonas Brothers with predator drones …
Now this is the kind of truly edgy comedy we rarely see anymore. Think about it. Obama has authorized predator drone strikes in Pakistan and Afghanistan which have resulted in the wanton slaughter of innocent men, women and children. And here he is joking about using those predator drones on the Jonas Brothers if they try anything funny with his daughters! We haven’t seen this kind of bold, daring humor from a sitting president since LBJ made that crack about using napalm on George Hamilton. Heyoooo!
A strip from the distant land of 2006 (but if you’ve never seen it, it’s new to you!) …
Actual new strips will be forthcoming. This time I mean it!
Inhuman Relations returns on Monday, so here is the last YouTube post of the week. But because it’s the last, I’m just gonna throw a bunch of great stuff at you and assume that you will enjoy at least some of it.
First, James Cagney goes psycho in prison upon learning of his mom’s death in this clip from “White Heat”:
===========
After Barbara Stanwyck’s father tries unsuccessfully to pimp her out to a local city official (as a bribe in order to keep his speakeasy open), Barbara has a few choice words for him … from the 1933 film “Baby Face”:
===========
Olivia de Havilland gets brutal with Bette Davis (from the 1964 horror classic “Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte”):
===========
And last but not least … Kirk Douglas, giving his appraisal of Sarah Palin. This may be the single greatest YouTube clip of all time:
In a world …
… where Indian fights …
… are colorful sights …
… and nobody takes a lickin’ …
… the boys at Fort Courage know how to keep the peace:
Guy Ritchie Presents a Guy Ritchie Production of the Guy Ritchie film …
F-TROOP.
Coming soon to a theater near you. BA-BOOM!
Today’s clip is another classic “Get Smart” moment, where Max and 99 get some theatrical training so they can infiltrate a nefarious KAOS plot. (tip o’ the hat to reader Long Tom for the suggestion)
Hey folks!
I’m working on a couple of things, namely the next Inhuman Relations book, which is taking up a lot more time than I figured (but hey, lots of nifty extra stuff will be included). So I’m gonna have to put the strip on hold for a couple of days.
But if you’re looking for content, don’t worry, because as usual the YouTubes will provide temporary amusement for the remainder of the week. Enjoy!
Today’s clip features The Rat Pack and Johnny Carson singing “Birth of the Blues” (yes, Johnny really does sing in this one). You can thank stalwart reader Warren Ehn for suggesting this gem. In fact, I will thank him right now: Thanks Warren!
